Environmental Hydrology for Water Security

The course aim to develop a technique for an integration of water quality and water quantity assessment, modelling and the use of data for water monitoring. Assessment of human and climate impacts on water availability with focus on water quality will be addressed.

On completion of this course, participants should be able to:

  2.         Understand the physical and biogeochemical processes underlying water quality and water resources deterioration.

What is the course content?

  1.         Lectures and exercises to demonstrate the various aspects of the modelling process and practice.
  2.         Theory and case work on Watershed integrated modelling (erosion, sediment yield and water quality) using the SWAT2005.
  3.         Lectures on water quality remote sensing.
